SPF

We recommend that you use factor 30 plus for the area you are treated with laser. There are many sun protection factors on the market which are designed specially for the face. A facial SPF will be gentle to the skin. Some brands now offer an SPF clear spray that can be worn on top of makeup which doesn’t impact make-up application and can be re applied during the day as and when necessary.

Hair removal during Laser

Please avoid plucking, waxing, threading and epilating whilst on your course of laser hair removal. The hair follicle needs to be in the skin with the hair root as this is what the laser machine targets. For optimum results, we suggest that you shave the area 24 hours before your treatment as this will allow the skin to settle down before your treatment. As the face is sensitive sometimes shaving can increase this sensitivity for a short amount of time. Shaving 24 hours before treatment will reduce any sensitivity in the area.

Worried about shaving

Shaving will not impact the hair growth or hair density whilst on your course of laser hair removal. Shaving the face can be daunting however to give you the best treatment results we suggest that you shave prior to your treatment. Hair removal creams can cause an adverse reaction to the skin due to the chemical components that are within the cream.

Treatment Progression – What to expect

As your treatments progress you can expect over time for the hairs to become finer, less visible and a decrease in hair density. Each session your therapist will ask about the progress so that we can track progress and give you the best results.
