We do not use laser hair removal over tattooed areas due to the risk of burns, scabbing and the laser can extract the colour from the tattoo. We can work around the tattoo either blocking the tattoo with white pencil or we can cover the tattoo up for you during your laser hair removal treatment.

How Long Do You Wait Between Sessions?

Each session of laser hair removal is between 4-6 weeks. This allows for the hair growth cycle to be in the anagen phase. The hair growth cycle can last between 28-42 days. The active growth phase known as anagen phase is the best phase for laser hair removal.

How Long Does It Last?

Laser hair removal offers a permanent reduction of up to 80%. This can be dependent on many factors such as health, lifestyle, medication and medical history.

How Much Does It Cost?

Laser hair removal does not have to be expensive. Shaving, waxing, threading and electrolysis all provide a temporary solution to hair removal. Waxing every 4 weeks can be very costly and you must wait for the hairs to be a certain length before the next treatment. I Have Very Fine, Super Blonde Hairs – Will Laser Work For Me?

Laser hair removal works on the principle of the melanin within the hair follicle. The darker the hair follicle the more effectively the laser will be in destroying the hair follicle. Fine, downy or baby hairs which have less pigment in the follicle will not attract the laser very well. Grey and white hairs contain very little to no melanin and therefore will not be impacted by the laser beam during the hair removal session.

Is Laser Suitable With PCOS?

PCOS is a hormonal imbalance which can trigger excessive hair growth. Laser hair removal can be used if you are suffering from PCOS however longer treatment packages and sessions may be required to keep the hair reduction down. Further top up sessions will also be recommended by your therapist during your course of laser hair removal.

Is Laser Suitable When Breastfeeding?

Whilst there is no such scientific evidence to suggest that laser hair removal is unsafe during breastfeeding it is best to wait for you to stop breastfeeding before starting laser hair removal journey.

Is Laser Suitable When Pregnant?

Due to the increase of hormone levels, we do not advise for laser hair removal to be carried out during the duration of the pregnancy. Once you have had your 6 week check up at the GP you are able to continue or start your laser hair removal journey.

I Am Photosensitive. Is Laser Still A Good or Safe Option?

Laser hair removal is not recommended whilst you are on photosensitive medication. Laser hair removal can cause adverse reactions to the skin if you are on any photosensitive medication. Having a naturally photosensitive skin such as pale skin, which can burn or peel after direct sunlight is not impacted by laser hair removal. In fact the lighter skin tone and dark hair combination is well suited to laser hair removal.
